Default Prince Paul Releases Shelved Album - Horror City - Free Download!!!

This is an album that Paul supposedly did right after the Gravediggaz album that never got picked up by a distributor. He just decided to make a free download of it. I think more producers need to do this. One of the greatest and overlooked producers of all time. Enjoy!!!

"This was a project that I wanted to put together with Amityville MC legend Superstar . as I thought about it more I wanted to recruit more Mcs we knew to make it diverse . Superstar already had the name "Horror City" so we recorded under that name . This project was recorded right after the first Gravedigga album " 6ft deep"in 1995 . I shopped the demo but unfortunately it got looked over and never got signed . I sat on this project for a while but it always had a dear place in my heart because I thought it was really good and the talent was there . I stripped some of the music from the demo and put it on " a prince among thieves" and actually had a few of the guys perform on the " Thieves " album as well but to be honest I always liked these originals better. So now I have decided share these songs with all of you because holding on to them made no sense .. why not share great music . Hopefully you the listener will enjoy this project as much as I do . please share it , thats why I made this for free download . Whoops. Just saw that this was posted on the Wu-Tang Clan forum. Not sure how it belongs there since it doesn't really have anything to do with Gravediggaz but sorry anyways for the double post.

The earth is a very small stage in a vast cosmic arena. Think of the rivers of blood spilled by all those generals and emperors so that in glory and in triumph they could become the momentary masters of a fraction of a dot.

People are too stupid to effectively conspire to do anything, but not too stupid to come up with conspiracy theories.

finally got around to bang this project in whole and i gotta say it was a really pleasant listen. Prince Paul dropped nothing but straight heat and interesting projects between 1989 and 1999 and this definitely wasn't no exception to that rule. it does sound a little unfinnished but every track here had my head nodding, sound-wise this is somewhere in between "6 Feet Deep" and "Prince Among Thieves" (kinda like between a rock and a hard right), and actually half of the beats on here ended up being remixed for "Prince Among Thieves" anywayz.

off the totally "fresh" songs, "Take It How You Want" hit me the hardest - that shit's eerie as fuck and those drums KNOCK. i love how the beat keeps switching up to, a little reminiscent of "Diary of a Madman" for some reason.

lyrically these guys get a pass without a doubt, building from where "6 Feet Deep" left off the crew display some street shit with some horrorcore elements that's intelligent enough to keep the project flowing. it was great to hear MC Sha again too, i always wondered what happened to him or who the fuck he was after him being one of two lead MC's in the "Prince Among Thieves" LP.

as i said, this sounds a little unfinnished and rough in it's places but Paul says it's a demo and i can imagine it would've been considered another stellar Prince Paul project with that vintage '90s hardcore boom bap. some more joints, a few entertaining interludes and some type of storyline in tru PP fashion and a nice packaging and this would've guaranteed a buy from me.
