Good find but what's up with the sound? It sounds like the original radio interview was re-recorded through somebody's phone lol.
I've still got my original taping on cassette of the full interview from Hot 97, plus the interview she did with Mobb Deep shortly after Jay-Z left the studio. I can upload those if you want.
Hook that Up fatboybrandon, I got reps 4 ya for it.
me too
Did IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII ummmm.
His bottom lip was going on that I.
Ether > Takeover.
Idk why everyone says other wise, Ether made Jay-Z cry on radio and he cudn't make a diss to match it. Super Ugly was embarrasing. Ether is how a diss track should go, go at an artist from every direction.
who's says otherwise, I am pretty sure that most, currently and have always considered ether above the takeover
I think both disses are wack.
Alright here it is, the Jay-Z interview and Mobb Deep who interviewed shortly after him. I would've had the audio here earlier but I feel asleep while digitizing the tape, I almost overloaded my computer.

Hearing this had more impact to me back during the midst of the beef, I felt the social impact on the airwaves and in the streets of NY. It's interesting to look back 10 years later though to see what each artist's perspective once was.
Angie Martinez speaks to Mobb but doesn't ask them about the Jay-Z diss, I think she must've felt guilty and uncomfortable about speaking on it at the time since it was a big event.
The whole thing is about 2 hours long, I hope you enjoy
The editor of the rolling stones magazine once said that the beef was made up to increase the sales of their albums. I highly doubt that.
Jay-Z seemed more focused on making a track that sounded good rather than killing Nas. Nas just went in and probably made the hardest diss track of all time.
Speaking of him, I'm bumping his Hip hop is dead album a lot these days. I can't believe so many people dismiss it, very underrated work if you ask me.
"Motherfuckers say that I'm foolish, that I only talk about jewells, do you fools listen to music or do you just skim through it?" - Jay-Z
