I don't like the fantasy crap in the trailer. We were gonna see this in the movie theatre but I guess I'll pass and check it out on Netflix later.
i saw this shit last night, my mother in law brought it over. booya gimme that store credit, shit is getting traded in for some sega genesis shit
i fucking love love love feudal japan shit, if i could be anything, anyone, in any time period i would be shogun. but this movie just doesnt live up to its potential. its got some sweet fuckin jap actors (ichi the killer and the twilight samurai are both in it, and they are superb for what they are) but obviously keanu fucking reeves is just ridiculous in this role.
this movie could easily add like 25% to its rating just by being in japanese with subtitles. like there arent any half white-half japanese actors out there who can speak the language.
add another 25% by casting anyone but keanu and this movie is up to 63% which is half decent.
any actor could have done what keanu did in this movie, but an accomplished motherfucker could have actaully brought something to the table with reeves' role. i don't hate keanu reeves, i don't like him. he's just nothing to me, but giving him this role just ruined the character not necessarily the movie, but still. fuck that.
