I don't think it's him either, I remember years ago someone was impersonating him on tracks, check out the track 'Holocaust 97' I think it was called, the one with the line 'assassinate your brain to make your mind famous' at the end. All his stuff recorded in the 90's was pretty poor sound quality, the quality of this track is too good to be him from back then, plus his voice sounds off slightly.
Some of the transitional type styles are unrecognizable
As in we can't tell which box or category to put this in....
That is, if it was him : This could be some lost Alcatraz track.
But I can't help but remember first hearing this thinking it's him:
7:38
The other thing is this :
I'm under the impression that "Midnight In The Garden Of Good"
Was his debut?
That's the first track I heard of him and I was at school....
And that voice was distinctive so if you're saying before that
When he was Warcloud (again correct me if I'm wrong?)
Then maybe? perhaps? but it just sounds a bit off to me....
The voice on Signature of Solitude sounds a bit higher pitched than Holo. The style reminds me of the Architect, this was the closest comparison I could think of in terms of vocal tone, but I hear more "low end" on Blue Apples:
I also noticed on Signature of Solitude, the lyrics are much less cryptic than anything I've heard from Holo, it's also very "linear" in the structure/the way the images flow from one to another, when you take the Warcloud/Alcatraz and Architect personas into account. But as you said, it may have been previous Midnight in the Garden of Good. Quite the mystery this is.

That's another good point I neglected to mention regarding the poor sound quality of much of the obscure tracks heard from the late 90s, and the very raw/unmixed quality of his Warcloud/Alcatraz works; Signature of Solitude sounds very polished in comparison.
Do you happen to have Holocaust '97? I've never heard that one, and the idea of Holo being impersonated intrigues me.
There was this comment posted on Signature of Solitude:
Danny Vaughan, 6 months ago:
"This is not the Warcloud from the Wu-Tang, it is a European rapper with the name Warcloud. He actually had a few 30 second clips on youtube awhile ago insulting the Wu-Tang Warcloud."
I haven't been able to find anything else on this European Warcloud, which left me torn in its legitimacy. But in addition to the variations I noticed, your post confirms my suspicions. I wonder why he'd bash the real Warcloud/Holo.

Here's how I understand it....
I'm pretty sure Graveyard Shifter said we was originally Warcloud?
Like when he first started rhyming as a kid - Not Holocaust!
"Midnight In The Garden Of Good" was The Architect
Or a "Higher Minded Warcloud" socially acceptable....
Drop jaws rather than scratch heads type style.
So that was to later be watered down and thus you have : Holocaust(Silkworm)
Which I was again under the impression that when this dropped he was 17 years old?
So either he was younger on Bobby's Album or he was younger during "Escapism"
Either way that's scary.
So when the level of skill on display was clear that gave justice -
To releasing Warcloud hence that Freestyle Session :
"Wu-Tang Official Whistle Like A Missle White House With Black Walls Come Correct"
Now....what I'd like to know is The Warcloud Albums:
Did they come after he spat that verse with RZA, Doc Doom & Ghostface?
As in when were they recorded....let alone how you fit in Alcatraz - The Jigsaw_Puzzle
At the moment I only know for sure that The Robot Tank came after The BSBD Album lol
Makes you question :
If he never was a part of Wu-Tang would we have ever even heard Holocaust Verses?
Help anyone?
A difinitive timeline of some sort would be great.

Damn,.that shit was deep. Regardless, I would love to get my hands on some unreleased holo or midnight in the garden of good era warcloud...
Anybody hear this? Somebody just let me know the other day, I never heard of it before. It's pretty dope, but I can't make up my mind whether or not I think it's Holocaust. Does anybody know for sure or think one way or the other?
Why I think it isn't him:
Why I know it isn't him, I can tell by the pitch, tone and timbre that that is a white guy's voice.
Lyrically it's too banal and simple anyway, although whoever that is is skilled. Warcloud is genius/master level.

Ah, I think you are right about this one, good ear.

Another good catch. Here is Tank doing a full on World of Warcraft reference, according to the WowWiki "The Felhunter is the fourth pet available to a warlock after a succubus." http://www.wowwiki.com/Felhunter
I even think this line is related to WoW:

based on the error message you get when you attempt to log on and their servers are down. Likewise "Territory control" could be related to the PvP aspects of the game where "Alliance" and "Horde" sides battle for control of areas in the game which switch to the control of which ever side is winning. http://www.wowwiki.com/Contested_territory

the 1864 year reference immediately makes me think this a American Civil War Reference (1861-1865) I also suspect now the "Dier" at the end maybe a name, googling Civil War, continental solider does bring up some references to a notable "Dyer" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frederick_H._Dyer
I could be reaching with that one.

After re-listening I'm starting to the think the "tire" or Tyre here might be a proper name as well, as in a person by that name was sat down just down the corridor. It could just as well be a tire was in a hallway too.
Thanks for the lyric help in any case. Whole world of stuff to take out of Cloud's lyrics. I swear to God, today in my math class the teacher started going on about how Archimedes first invented catapults to help stop advancing Roman soldiers and then went on to mention how he used a giant magnifying glass sat on a hill to focus the sun on the wooden Roman ships to make them catch on fire. aka "Archimedes used solar power to defeat the Romans" I couldn't stop smiling.
The "Sat Tire" line is almost vintage Holo
What you're saying went through my mind as well :
As if he was a comrade or something of one of Holo's past lives that he remembers lol.
Other thing that came to mind was him just weary from what everything he just said
Almost "Overheating The Robot Tank's System" so to speak
And then behold....he did over do it therfor he catches fire.
Same thing here on the last verse of "River Church"
"Leonardo Da Vinci....Developed....An Early....Fire-Arm"
You can really hear he is exaggerating being tired from what he just recited.
I think you might be right though.
Great work with what you found especially the Warcraft elements.

That guy on the Wake Up Show freestyle is some rapper called E-Rule or something like that. I was talking to Lotec about it a while ago. His voice does sound like Holocaust from around that time period though.
