Yeah, this is the thing. It's just that guys interpretation. The whole bible is made up of interpretations. As Lord Nose said a few pages ago, this book and its morals and values shapes pretty much the entire western world...and there's hardly anything definitive.

The whole "god choose not to use his powers" thing is convenient. If you knew everything how can you make yourself not know anything? If you can see in the future can you choose not to?

How can he remain unbiased if he made such rules and punishment?

It's just convenient, a way to fill in the plot holes of the book. But god knows all he just chooses not to, easy fix.

My stance on who told the first lie is, The bible is written by man and therefore a lie. Those responsible for the first version of the Bible lied. All other versions are based on the first version which is not fact because there is no way we can prove any of the interpretations are correct.

yeah but so many people who haven't read the book see it as a book of historical facts

people are terribly afraid of the snake but they are even more afraid of god

people kill people in the name of god

the actions of human beings make the book very real

It's particularly even more bullshit when they began putting the old scriptures in to book form. The New Testament itself is just a fluff piece because they didn't like the content of the "old testament" scriptures. They edited and even left some important scriptures out because it didn't fit with what they wanted the perception of God to be.
