there's still good stuff being released and I admit I'm not up to date with a lot of artists but rap's had such big exposure since the late nineties that somewhere down the line the bar was set lower for mainstream releases in terms of quality

What makes rap even more impressive is that it's only really Americans, who are doing it. I mean, nobody "really" even bothers with raps, from any other country. Where as a lot of the other genres, have more global participation.

Its very difficult to speak objectively about one genre, let alone all of them.

I like Hip Hop more so it doesn't really matter to me if Josh Hommes latest LP was fantastic or not.

Is classical music great? Or is it that the greatest pieces of classical music are remembered and the shitty ones forgotten?
