I see there are some fans of the album here. I personally listen to it for the wordplay, lyrics and some beats on the album (a lot of the beats on this album are trash); Raekwon will never spit this good ever again.
Poll is above, vote.

Lololololololol
Here, I'm handing out late passes
I kno rite?
I want serious honest opinions here. I assume noel411 is a fan mainly because one of his favorite lines is from that album, and it's a line that Raekwon said.
To add to this discussion, Raekwon couldn't pick the best rappers or define a style for his American Cream Team which is a shame considering this is the fucking guy who made OB4CL, one of the greatest albums in any lifetime. We could of had a better version of The Firm but instead we've got self-indulgence promoting Raekwon.
as I stated last week in 2 different threads I feel like :
* there's a good EP in there
* someone should remix the whole album cuz the lyrics are good. but not all the acapellas are available
I played around with the song order and left some songs out and now I can listen through most of the album
definitely NOT a classic

it is not a classic of course, it's a personal classic to some but in my opinion it's a lot better than people give it credit for.. i think almost half of the tracks are very dope and worthwhile. i remember reading an interview where Rae got a question like does he ever get tired of rehashing the crime life so much, and his response was "well with "Immobilarity", i tried to do so much else, responsible records, heartfelt stories, and love songs to my family, etc. but as it was universally shitted on i think he thought it had something to bc of that which is a shame. Lyrically it's of the best rap LP:s of all time. Rae at his very peak
"Intro (Immobilarty)" [fantastic intro]
"Yae Yo" [Cuban Linx steez stories with an update and a banging Broady beat]
"Casablanca" [100% classic]
"100 Rounds" [marvellous lyrics, problem is that the beat is so similiar to the previous track it loses a lot of impact]
"Real Life" [the drum programming doens't come through but the actual main sample and Rae's lyrics DOES]
"Power" [i don't know, i always liked this as a posse cut.. but granted had it not been a Rae cut i'd probably woulnd't give a fuck]
"All that i Got is You Pt. II" [while I love Rae's verse, i think the song comes off as too cheesy and melodramatic with Big Bub and compared to Ghost's predecesor it just sounds amateur]
"Jury" [100% classic, one of Rae's best storytelling ever, deep meanings, so many quotables and a wonderfuly evocative beat]
"Fuck Them" [this has Method Man, good performances, deep lyrics and due to beat is totally asininine, one of the most amateur songs on a '90s album by an established artist of this caliber. Much worse than something like "Nastradamus" song]
"Live From New York" [100% classicer, has stood the test of time. Excellent first single]
"My Favorite Dread" [very good storytelling, decent beat]
"Friday" [see above]
"Sneakers" [100% classic, boom bap courteys of Pete Rock and a classic Hip Hop theme.. wish there would be some more shit like this on here]
"Raw" [NAH]
"Pop Shit" [NAH]
"Heart to Heart" [NAH"]
"Forecast" [i know a lot of people criticize it but i always had a very soft spot for it, from the lyrics, performances and even the beat. love the shout out at the end too.. very good closer]
so to call this album a serious dud is for me just crazy.. "Lex Diamond Story" was very closer to being that.

claaa7 you forgot "The Table" featuring masta killa.
Great song by song analysis by claaa
I like 'Fuck Them', but not 'Power'
'The Table' is a classic of course

Suck this drunk alcohol dick.
I like the album, its a banger, but definitely not a classic
WU-TANG FOREVER.
GHANA REPRESENTING
I agree on it making a good EP with tracks like Casablanca, The Table, Sneakers, LFNY, My Favourite Dread.. As an album it has too much of these weak-ass cereal package beats though Rae spits pure fire throughout.
Its not a Classic. But it gets 4/5 from me. Its my third favorite Raekwon album.
N.I.
Not a classic (especially since it was following OB4CL) but definitely doesnt deserve the hate it gets- Rae's storytelling and flow were on point! I really appreciated the maturity and wisdom of the album! The only song I really dislike is "Pop Ish" and thats mostly for the beat- Again disagree w how people hate this album.
