I have to actually work next week, facing the public etc. That's it.
Well it's not a zombie attack lol, at most you might have to stay at home eating can food for a few weeks.
Haha
Can you imagine how the world would change if 1/3 people actually died? - it would be mostly old people...
Well this got out of control quickly. Italy under full quarantine, The British Health secretary tested positive, Iran in chaos, stock markets plummet, oil prices drop 25%. It's remarkable how European nations can be so incompetent.
Round here 1,000+ attendee events have been forbidden by the guhment, so most venues & events are scaling down to 999 attendees max to recoup on some of their projected losses. talk about stupid lol
It’s going to run it’s course. People have probably already gotten it and don’t know.
It’ll be around for months before it goes away.
There won’t be a vaccine that takes years. Then it’ll go away on its own because it’ll infect to many people and they’ll be immune.
It’s not nothing but it’s not going to be another bubonic plague.
They predict just less worse than Spanish flu 1918. Or a really extreme flu outbreak.
What are the odds that Tom Hanks plays himself in the movie version of this virus 5 years from now?
The response in England has been relaxed. The government isn't really doing anything a friend called the health services saying he might has it, they just asked him has he had contact with anyone whose got it, he said no they shut the phone in his face.
European countries & the US need to follow the steps South Korea, Taiwan and Singapore took. Test as many people, randomly if need be. Isolate those who have got it and go from there.
The stock markets are taking an absolute pummelling though, worst day in London since 1987.
The Cleveland clinic just developed a test that gets results in 8 hours as opposed to 3/4 days.
I’m going to guess that for the next week or two this will be the story, then once there is a plateau or decline, it’s over.
I’d also guess that the mortality rate will be around 1 or 1.5% when it’s all said and done.
Any takers on that bet? I’m going 1.3%
