Haha I remember that shit. A lot of trash on the radio in the late 90s tbh. Some classics too -

See I don't know about this. We all grew up in the 90s so there's some nostalgia to the music of our youth but a lot of the songs in this thread are very dated, I think the 90s as a whole is very nostalgia driven because our generation dominates social media and are heavy on reminiscing but isn't objectively that good.
Hip Hop is the exception though it's the greatest period for that.

agree on both the nostalgia and hip hop
most probably if I grew up in the 2000s I wouldn't be into 90s alt rock like I am now. point in case it always takes me singles and albums I knew from back in the day to get me into other albums by the same bands from after I left alt rock behind (circa 1997-1998 I guess when I switched to hip hop full time)
imagine growing up as a kid and a teen and not having access to radio (or streaming platforms these days) and having no idea what the current music is like. sure you can have a great time listening to old stuff but you are missing out on the zeitgeist for better or worse
here's another one I enjoyed

I'm def biased for 90s. 90s R&B, Hip Hop, Trip Hop, Electronica, random Rock stuff.
Its funny the 90s gets a pass for its cheesier tropes now, they're part of the charm and a lot of new artists draw from that, but people definitely thought the 90s were dated in the 00s and early 10s.
