To me this was an excellent album and is highly under rated, especially when compared to HHNF.
I myself being from Virginia Beach can say that this album had a definite inpact on hip-hop fans alike in this area. The songs really captured the mood and aura of Virginia Beach and many songs on this album envoke memories for me.
Excellent album IMO, and a classic to everyone here and myself.
I love this l.p.; my biggest problem with it was that it was too one dimensional; they pretty much just talked about cocaine the entire l.p.; but the tracks were insane and Pusha T definitely established himself as the lyrical kingpin of the two.
All they talked about on HHNF and the We Got It for Cheap series was cocaine, too...hadn't got around to hearing the newest shit. The production on this album was insane for it's time. "I'm Not You" is my shit, just a ridiculous track.
they didnt start branching out subject matter wise until till the casket drops. and even then only malice was doing that. pusha t was still on his coke rap shit.
So many bodies on my microphone the shit's haunted
So what if drugs is the only thing Clipse raps about. I don't care about rappers talking about drugs, sex and violence all the time as long as the beats are tight. I didn't like Lord Willin but i like the joints Grindin, When's The Last Time, Gangsta Lean.
Good album but HHNF made even more of an impression with me. I gotta play Lord Willin again, it's been too long. Tbh there's not too many tracks I remember off the top, except for the singles.
