Listened to this today and its a good record. the GFK skit is hard to make out what he saying i guess turn it up. Beats are nice too. Not sure how much of these lyrics are new or recycled. Maybe someone who listens to Razah often would know. Thanks for the links @BIRDCAGE
There are two new Roads Art albums. Heaven’s Road and Hell’s Road.
Razah releases a lot of material these days so not familiar with it all, but there are definitely some reused verses on Hell’s Road - including a reused hook and verse used on P Sunn’s Spark album.
Anyway, these new projects still sound pretty good. Worth checking
i was saying that to my self to about the reused verses and lyrics hell razah is mad ill but you just got to have new lyrics on a new album cant be reused in my opinion not knocking or disrespecting him at all his been thru a lot so in his situation i understand and roads art is a real dope producer his definitely nice with his craft peace to them
He's been dropping some really nice projects lately.
I love Razah - he's been through a lot of shit, but he needs some quality control. Way too many projects with recycled verses recently. Ghost of Malcolm X has appeared on at least 4 different "albums" with different beats... it's all just recycled material at this point.
But these new Roads Art projects have had me revisiting a lot of 00's Razah:
Freedom of Speech w/ 4th Disciple
Black Market Militia album
Renaissance Child
Razah's Ladder w/ BSBD
Welcome to Red Hook Houses w/ Shabazz
Heaven Razah
Some gems in there.
Is Razah authorizing these releases or are dudes just getting ahold of his accapellas and making progress?
Regarding his projects, I personally think his best is Razah's Ladder... By a mile. I've been meaning to revisit the Freedom of Speech tape though. I remember loving the track with the Queen sample but I haven't heard the whole thing in a while
Remember being disappointed in FOS simply because I expected more from him and 4th. Might have to go back to it. Peace
I listened to FoS again today and it's about what I remembered... Meh. But I felt like it grabbed my attention starting with track 15.
And I was mistaken about the track with the Queen sample.... That's on another mixtape (the track is called Thug Tear Drops)
Tracks 15-19 on FoS are from When All Hell Breaks Loose - and not actually produced by 4th. Not really sure why they’re on the original version of FoS.
