New Ghost album on Mass Appeal

The Nas and Meth tracks are absolute bangers! But the rest is a highly forgettable album.. Waste of time for Ghost.. I could cry hearing those Ringz beats - These guys SELL OUT ARENAS with their classic tracks and need to embrace WHO THEY ARE as a marketable asset.

I'd like to know more about the creative process with these more recent Ghost albums, especially around beat selection. I suspect Ghost just asks his weed carrier to trawl through the emails for the past month and pick 15 random beats that have been sent in by Soundcloud producers.

I'm sure Wu will embrace AI at some point, enabling Ghost to put one of these type albums out annually, and Cappa putting out a new album monthly.

I better hear some of these on SC2. Call me outta touch, immature, livin in the past, etc. I KNOW all it takes is the right people to be around in order for the music to be right. No yes men, no accountants, and all that bullshit. Ghost is unique in that he can jump in and out of so many lanes and the shit sounds dope so it makes me wonder who was around when this was made or better yet who was around that said “yea this is the shit you need to represent yourself as and what the world wants to hear” We all know Nas ain’t the one to ask for opinions on beats, hit boy resurrected Nas (hate if u want but prove me wrong first). IMO, older MCs are at their best when it’s just them and 1 producer. Producer plays the beat and explains their vision(the canvas), the Mc expands on it (paints with words), then something beautiful is made (fuckin art dummies).

A lot of rappers post an email on their Twitter/Instagram asking for producers to send beats. No way the rappers listen to all those beats. And if they do, they have shit taste in beat selection

Vinnie Paz still got it. That's it. ONE rapper with a good ear for beats. The rest are deaf

Anyway, this new Ghost album is just a precursor to Supreme Clientele 2, just like Rae's "Scarlet Fever" is supposed to be a prelude to Cuban Linx 3...supposedly

Is it possible that it's the sample clearance issue? I know Ghost be mad at Cilva for OUTIS but nowadays getting the sample cleared may be too risky. Kendrick or Drake can do it cause they push million of units but Ghost aint that popular no more

this album was AnRd by producerplug (he has anrd for kanye, did odbs osirus mixtape, guest on KPs podcast, works with ghost) and i think someone at mass appeal

i wouod assume they would pick the beats for ghost to choose from, but not pick the actual tracks rhemselves just weed out what they wouodnt want on the album per ghosts choices/what he needs at the time.

after tracks get demod they start picking the best ones and take em to completion and such

but i totally think this album was meany for more casual ears than say a supreme to bring them in. The people who gon buy cuban 3 and supreme 2 already locked in.
