rakim is definetely better in my opinion. hip hop wouldnt have progressed to the level it did without him. his flow, delivery, lyricism, are all on point and were way ahead of his time when he made his classics. even if you think method man is now the superior mc, you have to realise that without rakim, a lot of hip hop after him simply wouldnt have happened or been the same. meth had some good material too but he's not even near the same league as rakim imo.
