looked a bit tubby in the euro's..........when he was captain at 19 or whatever i thought he'd be amazing.........then he ended up @ hamburg or whatever. still, van basten seems to love him.

Yes he was a little over-weighted, but he is a good player he was just al hyped up the first years. I hope that Hamburg will be a new start for him so he can get back at is old level.

No offence to the Dutch league but you'll always be a feeder league (and I loved ajax as much as any independent in 94/95 etc)
Quite a few have only been good at ajax tho...........reiziger, kluivert, bogarde, litmanen, finidi, kanu, de boer's (except scotland) to a degree seedorf too.
But still... we are a small country, with a small competition, but 6 euro1's (8 finals), 1 euro2, and 3 eufacups (4finals), that's not a bad score for a feeder-competion!Originally Posted by Ouroborous

Don't get me wrong you produce great players & when they're all together you are a top team, but my point is they don't stay together long. Your last European Cup winning team, three quarters of it had left for Italy, Spain, England within 3 years?..........
There's a lot more money in the English, Spanish & Italian leagues, even the French & German.
Yeah youre right on that, it's to bad

lol. going back at least 10 years there for the last of them! (all amazing players tho!)Originally Posted by 27
