I think The Beatles vs. Rolling Stones would be a better debate, I don't see any comparisons with Elvis. Either way I say The Beatles.

And you are right. The stones would go to do albums and wouldnt have a clue of what they wanted to do. It all came on the fly. Ppl that would record the stones said that it was always a dreadful situation because they were never sure what they we're gonna get. They just banged out what they could when they could and eventually made hits here and there. Dont get me wrong though. The stones got classics. The got enough to fill many "greatest hits" albums.

The Beatles were always calculated. Like the Wu. Everything was done for a reason. There was purpose behind things. The only times that the Beatles had trouble recording was towards the end of them being a group. The Abby road album, of course. And the White album was difficult at times to record as a group because I figure that they were all hitting their prime and there was a unspoken rivalry there. It happens.

Anyway, once again on that one - Beatles.
