Why do people sleep on Jin...he's got some real meaningful songs and shit. I feel like I'm the only one who likes this record.

JJ. Brown & Louis Logic - Comedy Loves Misery
Ive never really heard anyone on this site mention this album, or Louis Logic at all.
Logic provides entertainment throughout the album, by crafting different situations and dillemas. Rather than lyrics that mean little but sound good, Logic discusses many issues on the album, maintaining lyrical diversity which makes the albums replay value great.
The production is laid back for the most part, and fairly jazzy and smooth.
Overall a great album, Louis Logic's rhymes arent for everyone, but in my opinion his attempt to put substance into this album works perfectly. However the work on "Sin-A-Matic" is alot more humorous and light hearted. I'd Recomend that people check out both albums.
As a guide "Misery Loves Comedy" is comparable to Atmospheres latest album.

yeah this album is lyrically crazy. it took me a few listens for it to sink in and to understand all of it. i stumbled across this so ramdomly, and it turned out to be one of my favourite albums of 2004.
i wouldnt recomend this to people who dont have alot patience though.
Word. This is one of the best albums I've ever heard, lyrically. Cryptic is a real writer. Not just on some fancy rhyme shit about cliche hip hop topics. Like you said, not for everyone. He touches on some serious personal issues, which is probably not what most hip hop fans wanna hear. This album is a personal classic for me, and one of the most prized items in my vast hip hop collection. A must have for anybody who appreciates deep and thought provoking lyrics.
I only hope that Cryptic will bless us with some more music in the future.

His new album...i can't remember the name, is coming out this year im pretty sure.
Jin's independent follow up album to his debut which probably only cost less than a quarter of his first yet it's far superior. With a more focused Jin and just one producer creating a much more cohesive album, this really should not be ignored if you love hip hop and hip hop culture.

For me these are the essential Grimm records
American Hunger is an incredible release his best work easily. Musically he kept it simple 5-6 producers share the work on the 60 track triple cd; and each cd has a different feel. Lunch is my favorite at the moment but there is so much stuff here its hard to choose from. Even if not every song was succesful you got give respect to Grimm for shitting on lame mfs coming with 4 dope songs on a 26 song cd full of guests and super producers. His other cds are all pretty mixed; mostly recorded while he was incarcerated, there is nothing wack there only the feeling that he was rushed.
Doom MF Grimm is worth picking up if only for the bonus cd which features rare pre-94 classic Grimm; but the first disc is dope as well and heads will enjoy Dedicated and Break Em Off Grimm
^^I have both those albums, I recently got american hunger but I have yet to give it a few more spins, it is great there are a lot of joints that im feeling but I have to say that there is something that bothers me a lot about MF Grimm's flow.

I would say in general because I went back to a few of his albums but for some reason it's really apparent on american hunger, I dunno, he just can't quite ride the beats for some reason.....
