Can Obama be president? I'm Italian American, and if were up to Giuliani(a fellow paisano) and Obama, I would probably vote Obama. That being said, I don't think Giuliani or Obama get the nominations, because lets face it, most voters are white northern european descendents, and most of the voting poplulation is that.
And dont forget the people with the most influence and money in politics, the blue-blood white anglo saxon protestant. Clinton and Kennedy have been the only Catholic, non Protestent presidents.
The best man usually doesn't get the nod. Are you telling me Bush was a better man for the job than John McCain?? Honestly?
Racism is still engrained in alot of Americans, and certain white people, those northern europ. descendents, still have that superiority thing going on.
Who knows tho...I think we will see one in my lifetime and Im 25. This new generation has been brought up alot differently than previous ones and they are alot more educated and have experienced different people and cultures alot more.
So I don't think its as far fetched as some may think...BUT assissination is a real issue. That would be really bad if it happened tho.

I dont even have to go to the link, but that is exactly what I was talking about. That shit is real. A father and son both being president??? Thats almost like some monarchy type shit.

But the United States is still an experiment, this first country pretty much stolent, then 'built' into a great power, using slaves(although N. America didn't come close to having as many slaves as south and central america), other immigrants groups from all over the globe.
Its not surprising that the 'English' are still holding on to their power...America is seen especially early as an English American country, but with all these others tossed in this 'salad bowl' of cultures, it makes for inequality and tension when one group has most or all of the power.
Its a combination of classism and racism....it really could be alot more volatile a situation than it is. That is why Americans are so protective of their freedoms and 'democracy' although we don't always practice what we preach and have treated people, blacks in particular, horribly.
But like I said, its a crazy phenomenon the United States.

Black criminals don't get treated the same way as white criminals. Blacks get treated worse by the police than whites. Rodney King getting beat up by the police was a good example of blacks getting treated worse than whites by the cops. I know that Rodney King was drunk when he was arrested and he was probably resisting arrest and cursing at the cops but they didn't have to beat him up. I'm surprised he's still alive after i saw the footage of him getting whipped. Those dumb ass blacks and hispanics in the ghetto in Los Angeles shouldn't have terrorized their neighborhood when the cops were found not guilty. Destroying your own neighborhood to get a point across isn't gonna make the situation better. The jury must've been on drugs to not convict those cops for that beating on Rodney. Willie D of the rap group Geto Boys said something very true about the justice system on his solo song If I Was White. He said when's the last time you seen a all black jury judge a white person in america? That shit just do not happen but it always happens to a black man. Black man on trial for his life. APSU if i was a virgin, there's nothing wrong with being a virgin because most women only wanna spend a man's money and have kids. That's why i'm single now because i'm tired of black women playing games with me and i don't like their attitudes. I'm also tired of seeing black women with a bunch of kids. Women got issues period. Black women, white women, asian women, puerto rican women aren't any different. I used to think that white women were different than black women because most white women are friendly and they speak to me more than black women do but i used to date a white girl and she had 3 kids. She loved black men because before i dated her, she told me she dated black guys. 2 of her sons are by a black guy. I broke up with her because of her kids. It's hard to spend time with a woman who has kids. She's a nice girl. We probably would've still been seeing each other if she didn't have kids. I prefer black women over other races of women but black women got serious issues and i'd rather stay away from them. Maybe one day a black woman with no kids and doesn't have issues will come my way but one thing's for sure, i won't be trying to look for her because i'm tired of dating. It seems like men have to date a bunch of women that are fucked up just to get to the good woman.
