As much as rent is going up, gas prices going up, food prices are going up, there's no way a person can survive off of minimum wage. I heard the minimum wage bill was raised to $6.85. That ain't shit either. These jobs that pay minimum wage are slavery jobs.
Just because you can't live off of min. wage, does that make the wage wrong?

My first job was min. wage...I highly doubt that I would go back to that type of job as my main source of income. A 2nd job maybe. Anyway, my first job was a stepping stone. It gave me work experience, a check, and responsibilities...but it was a stepping stone.

Min. wage jobs in my opinion because I really don't know were designed to employ teenagers and not adults. Like I said, I could be wrong, however looking at it from a socioeconomic stand point, if I were designing a society those jobs would be for the younger generation to get them ready for that which is to come. They can learn to work, be responsible, budget and save and other things...

I would say, it's not the job and the wage that's causing financial hardships, it's the overall economy itself and the current social norms.

When women began to work (outside of their typical secretary or teaching job) it changed the dynamics of america's economy.

When there was no more slaver and share cropping, that changed the dynamics of america's economy.

I live in america, and I know that america does not have all of her people in mind when making decisions. Because of this, we have grown ass men and women with families doing all they can to provide however it's never enough to have a quality way of living.

It's not the wage that is the problem it's the dynamics of this country.

well black man. if poor minimum wage workers didnt buy the latest cell phone, a bag of bud 100 ringtones, fancy shoes, expensive clothing theyd have more money to save up for the important things.

its how you spend what you earn. ppl in other coountries who make 10$ a week survive. why cant ppl here survive off of $250 a week? because they have bad spending habits and priorities.

i agreed with everything up until the dynamics part.

It seems like a good number of people actually buy cell phones....you can usually them for free, and if not free $50...a good investment to have...comes in handy. Now come on, everybody does not smoke bud, nor would I say most people are buying ringtones...again they'll get that for free. Now shoes, gotta buy the expensive shoes due to the quality. Don't neglect your feet people. Expensive clothes tend to last longer than cheap clothes. Quality vs. Quantity.

One reason why people in america can't do what people in other countries do is due to the standard of living here.

I don't know about anybody esle, I strive to have a good quality of life/living. I don't want to hunt for my food, I don't want to have to boil my water, I don't want to not have a television, I don't want to not have a computer......................how many people are leaving america to live some place in comparison to people leaving their country to come here?

Now, spending habits in america....horrible. This country flourishes off of debt on all levels. Now, people spend for different reasons...some spend to try and fit in, others spend because they don't think they'll see the next day to enjoy, some people spend to fill a void, others spend out of neccessity, etc. etc.

In my initial post, all I'm saying is that min. wage is not a bad or wrong wage to have. That's not the problem.

Those are just two examples...let's look at when women started to work and a wider variety of jobs. Look at women and labor during and after WW2.

After slavery and share cropping, america was rapidly becoming more and more industrialized....now a non-paying work force is available however they want paid...that changes the dynamics of society.

Both cases mentioned have changed the dynamics of american society, especially in labor.

If you believe the only reason private school kids do better is because the families place more emphasis on education, you are an idiot.

My point was pretty clear. Not everyone in these schools deserves these marks. And trust me it shows in University.

Also about people at your school, that is exaclty what I said.

Your point about rich people being smart is ridiculous. Largely people are rich due to family history for the last few hundred years. Yeah, all them starving Africans must be too dumb to get the food to their mouths right?

I agree having a family who place emphasis on and encourage education helps, but plenty of those kids are dimwits. Alot are tutored several times a week to keep up with those marks and even then have trouble.

Also, if you would like to raise any other ridiculous points...simply look at the example I gave of the dude with his raw HSC marks on today tonight or whatever show it was. That is comprehensive evidence many of these schools are scaled for the sake of it. His raw marks were like totally average.

And also success breeding success...I agree, but that success equals intelligence...I don't see that at all. I think it is genetic, hormonal and biological and nurture. Also, I think you are refering to the MIDDLE CLASS not the rich. To me Gates and Kiyosaki are the rich. And most of Kiyosaki's comments on the education system I would agree with.

Being good with money does not necessarily mean you are intelligent, and vice versa. Infact I would place DISCIPLINE much more than intelligence as important in acquiring wealth (middle-class wealth).

The problem with our education system is there is so many ways for a person of very average intelligence to get a good mark. Tutoring, working for hours and hours and hours, better schools etc. When you look at these facts which I would say DEFINITELY contribute to marks more than natural intelligence you see that a persons school grades aren't necessarily a good indicator of intelligence even without any scaling. The fact the scaling is there is just to me a boost for people who spent more on education.

I believe the educational institutions of our society should be aimed at bringing about a high standard of academia, the marks shouldn't be in anyway bought.

you bet it changed the dynamics. slavery at the time was valued at about 2 billion dollars in 1860. it just disappeared for the south. that and some of the plans after that time are why the south is still generally considered behind the north.

but thats what raising the wage will do to this country in a way. the labor was free. so they could make lots of money off it. today the pay is minimum, if you raise that minimum to a maximum that is all money that is being lost by the companies and what not. they cant produce like they used to, they go out of business, or go to countries where they can pay cheap wages to maintains profits.

Ironman you are awesome. I couldn't agree with you more about everything you said. You hit the nail on the head 100% about blacks. As long as blacks continue acting ignorant and stupid, we will never move forward. This ignorance and self hatred amongst ourselves has been with us for centuries and the sad thing about it is that it will continue with every young generation. I feel like why should the government help fix up the schools in the ghetto when the black youth aren't interested in school? Blacks are always complaining about black kids need new school books and computers. Why should black kids get those things when they can't even bring pencils and paper to school? LOL. When i was in high school, black kids would always ask me for a pencil and paper because they never had that stuff. How is it that black parents can buy their spoiled ass bad kids expensive sneakers and expensive clothes but they can't buy them pencils, pens, paper for school? I'll tell you why. Because wearing expensive clothes and expensive sneakers is more important to them because the ignorant stupid kids wanna impress other kids bragging about what they're wearing and how much they're stuff costs.

Whitey i don't know why ignorant blacks call each other niggas. It's ignorant to use that word because blacks were called that by white people when they were slaves. The word is demeaning and it's a ugly word because nigga means that you're stupid and you're less than a human being. Niggas are animals to me and ignorant niggas in my opinion act like animals. Why do you think there's so much black on black crime? Ignorant blacks that kill each other are animals. I don't know why blacks have so much self hatred, jealousy, envy towards one another. We're the only race that act this way. We put each other down daily for no reason and it's disgusting what we're doing to ourselves and we don't even realize it. Ceelo of rap group Goodie Mob spoke about ignorant blacks on The Experience song on Goodie Mob's Still Standing album. He spoke the truth and here's what he said.

I can't do nothing when a white man calls me nigga to my face but here it is, niggas call each other niggas each and everyday LOL. I wanna go to the club as fresh as i can be but really it's all for another nigga to see. You know how a nigga get when he see somebody wearing a outfit that he ain't got. So he gets mad and drunk and somebody gets shot. That's why the property value in a nigga neighborhood ain't no good. A nigga can understand if he only understood. I'm sick of lying. I'm sick of glorifying dying. I'm sick of being a nigga. A great deal of the black man's downfall is knowing that we were never niggas at all. So many black men out here trying to be niggas LOL. Keeping it real to the point that they dying to be niggas hahahahahahahahahahaha. The fact is you ain't a nigga because you black. You a nigga because of how you act.

Bill Cosby hit the nail on the head about ignorant black youth when he said they're getting outta school at 2:30 pm everyday cursing, using slang words, laughing and talking about people and they're going nowhere in life hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

What's does your response have to do with the topic i posted? Your response has nothing to do with what i posted. If you had paid attention, you will see that the topic is about what Willie D had to say about ignorant blacks and he was speaking the truth. Are you taking offense to what he said because you fall in the category of a ignorant black man?
