"Da Mysteries of Chessboxin', first of all the word "mystery" means "unknown", you know, and the game of chess is like life, so in reality there is no mysteries to chess, it's just to those who don't understand life"- The GZA

yh 10/10, great production but Big L's punchlines jus too much, too hard, some hardcore shit.
Nice album. I'd give it an 8/10. Big L is one of the most overrated of all time, but I give him credit for the huge influence he had on so many after him. He was nice though. Just nothing special is all. But a solid album no doubt.
The crown is still mine 'cause I drop ill rhymes.
Rappers talk that murder shit, but they couldn't kill time.

"big l is that n**** you expect to catch wreck on any cassette deck, i'm so ahead of my time my parents haven't met yet."
columbia ruined this album by leaving off the best songs, i'll give it 8/10.
you could easily put together a comp of his early work that i'd give 10/10.
Big L"s albums about 8/10 to me it's hot, and raw i just don't feel some of the beats.

Word. Seeing J-Live perform live a couple of years back really made me realise what a top notch mc he is. Definitely top 50 for me.
I just made that list up to reply to your post, by going through my cd collection and picking out everybody I considered to be a particularly good mc. There's a few mc's in it who I'm not really much into, but still consider to be particularly talented.
^^ you gotta check Buckshot out! Buy or download Enta Da Stage...
