The point is that if you didn't recognize the lyrics in the first place, then how can you have any idea about what he's trying to do?

whatever you may think of him as an MC, you can't believe that Jay is stupid. A majority of those lines were taken from songs that Hip Hop heads SHOULD know. They are in no way rare or obscure.

just like when INS says " The employees of the year yeah we back to work..." I know he didn't make that line up, even though he gives no credit as to where it comes from.
