i love when Beanie says "can't stop, won't stop" at the end-- droppin' knowledge!! superficial reference to Bush doesn't count as "political" either. Beanie is trash but let me also guess-- you hate on 50 & probably Plies also? the only thing Beanie kills here is his status as even a mediocre rapper, now he's just more Jay-Z sponsored trash (come on down Memphis Bleek!)
i liked american gangster a lot. i can play that album and just be like, "damn, i'm listening to some good music right now'. it is what it is. jay put out a good album. say what you want about him, but from where i'm sitting he's still capable of making dope records. Beanie's flow was tight on tony siegel and there were several lyrical moments that actually caught me off guard. the line "you have to cut me out this track like cancer" was nice too. he's a decent MC.

i'm starting to feel the ghost album a little more now. BDR is solid, though it's not fishscale either. but ghost rips it in several places and attacks the thing real strongly. i'm just ready to hear a new style from him. i wanna hear him switch it up. in the meantime, i'm banging yolandas house, rec room therapy (how dope is that beat??) supa gfk, killa lipstick, etc. smuggling heroin in cactus 24/7.

american gangster is still album of the year for me and yes it is soulful, and a great rap album with amazing production

and beans isnt too good nowadays (his album is wack) but his verse on toney sigel was decent, especially the "kill niggas at the drop of a dime, imagine what i do for a quarter" line.

yeah man. i love knowledge. you talk about that W, that's that wisdom, that's that wisdom of the universe. for the nations, to Allah. Allah is just another presentation of the great Buddha of nothingness and bliss and casual effortless self-realization. he said he cut his eye, in sparring.

This record has a few good songs, a lot of average songs, and a few horrible songs.

    Overall: Forgettable.

    14 - !
    15 - Killa Lipstick (3.5/5)
    16 - Slow Down (4/5)

It's a really solid piece of work though it lacks innovation and creativity which makes it an album full of good tracks but nothing that really stands out. Good to see him bring more than half the Generals to the table, a tradition that every Clan member should carry on with for their solo releases. Personally I think the album is overshadowed by the recent releases of 8 Diagrams and American Gangster (because of the similarities in production and style). The Big Doe Rehab ends up as a short but sweet album that if executed better might had been a runner-up for the title of best album of the year but as of now it's pretty far from that position.
    Overall: 7.5/10

i agree with almost all of your ratings, and the final score. nice summary too, i agree that AG and 8D are better records.
