    About moderators having it for their jobs, I guess for sites that belong to businesses and have a forum on it, those employees would have moderator accounts. I remember the Blizzard Entertainment forums have just a few employees as the mods. I remember one of them was on the forums so long and became the popular mod, he got his own personal site that became popular...hahaha
